Welcome to the coastal city of Essaouira, a picturesque fishing town, lying on the southwest coast of Morocco. With an exquisite beach to the south, Essaouira has become one of Morocco’s most popular coastal towns. Enjoy an accessible Essaouira medina tour where many of the country’s wood carvers and artists make this port city their home.
Enjoy a wheelchair accessible tour of the Medina with a English-speaking guide to share insight about culture and history of this Portuguese port city. Explore views of the Atlantic and the ocean breeze as you take in the historical fortress that still houses cannons used to protect the city in the 1700’s. You can savor fresh fish right by the port for lunch and afterwards enjoy some time at the beach before returning to your hotel/riad.
This excursion is available to those staying in Essaouira as well as those desiring a day trip from Marrakech.
Is it Accessible?
The Essaouira Medina is a very flat medina with good accessibility. There is ramped access to the ramparts that border the ocean side of the city. There are public accessible bathrooms toward the center of the beach. Our wonderful guides are familiar with our specific desired routes that allow for barriers to be reduced and in many cases, eliminated.
